TTP in Pakistan: The terrorist organization ‘Tehreek-e-Taliban-Pakistan’ i.e. TTP has started ruling in some areas of Pakistan. Armed fighters of TTP and Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) are patrolling the Tirah Valley of the country’s northern state Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). There is an atmosphere of panic in the area due to the patrolling of terrorists. According to Pakistan’s leading news outlet Dawn, local residents have appealed to the authorities for security. Dawn quoted the people of the valley as saying that the re-activation of TTP and LI has increased the security threat in the valley.
People of the valley told that terrorists are present in Kambarkhel, Adamkhel, Landawar and Thirai areas of Shalobar. Apart from this, terrorists are also active in Peer Mela, Bhutan Sharif areas. At present, they are not openly patrolling the main roads and markets. While some people told that videos of terrorists roaming openly in Peel Mela are going viral. In such a situation, the pressure on the security forces to take action is increasing. A propaganda material has been released in Pashto language on social media, which says that they have complete control over Shalobar and Peer Thari area.
Police force missing from the area
The most interesting thing about this issue is that the security forces frisk the common people at local checkpoints, but the terrorists are roaming freely in their own areas. Locals told Dawn News that after the arrival of the TTP fighters, the police force has almost completely disappeared from the Pul area.
Threat of military operation in the area
The report states that the situation in the area has become worrisome. Along with this, the local people have lost faith in the Pakistani administration. Meanwhile, there is a threat of a military operation against the terrorists, so people are afraid to leave their homes. In such military operations, the danger remains for the common people. A resident said that we cannot go to any other place. We have been displaced once, but till now all the people have not been able to build their house.
